V. Use of Energy
In “Use of Energy”, Sun Tzu discusses the importance of conserving and maximizing the use of energy in warfare. Sun Tzu emphasizes that a military must be able to sustain its energy and strength over the course of a campaign, rather than expending all of its energy in a single battle.
In business, it is common for resources (energy) to be invested in things that do not necessarily move the company forward or provide a good return on investment. However, by applying the principles of conserving and maximizing the use of energy a company can focus on activities that align with its goals and provide a good return on investment. It can find innovative and creative ways to enter new markets, differentiate itself from the competition, promote healthy habits and professional development among its employees, and have a clear and well-defined process in place to guide its efforts and focus its energy on specific goals and objectives. By following these principles, a business can conserve and maximize its energy in order to achieve success in the marketplace.
