In order to achieve victory in battle, it is not enough to simply know that the enemy is vulnerable and that one’s own forces are capable of attacking. It is also crucial to have knowledge of the terrain and other factors that could affect the feasibility of an attack, such as the nature of the ground. Without this knowledge, one has only achieved half of the necessary conditions for victory.

If we know that a competitor is vulnerable, and also know that our team is in a position to take advantage, but are unaware that the market conditions are unfavorable, we have still only achieved half of the conditions necessary for success.

The company knows that the competitor is vulnerable and that they are in a position to take advantage of this vulnerability. However, the leadership at the business is unaware of the unfavorable market conditions, which could hinder the ability to capitalize on the situation. Without this information, leadership may have made a mistake in taking advantage of the competitor’s vulnerability.
